Beihai Park
Beihai Park is located in the center of Beijing Downtown, the west of Jingshan and the northwest
of Palace Museum. It is composed by Beihai Lake and Qionghua Island. Beihai, Zhonghai and Nanhai are called the Three Seas. Beihai Park belongs to the Chinese ancient imperial garden. Beihai is the Center of Beihai Park. Beihai Park covers an area of 71 hectares, the water covers an area of 583mu and land covers an area of 480mu. Beihai Park was Li Palace in Liao, Jin and Yuan Dynasty, and emperor palace in Ming and Qing Dynasty. It is one of the oldest, fullest, most compressive and typical imperial places. It opened to outside as park in 1925. Beihai Park is the Chinese important heritage site under unite protection, and Chinese 4A-level scenic spot.
